Digital sovereignty and responsible digital technology
Our societies increasingly depend on digital technologies for their essential activities. This dependence on foreign providers, the rise in cyberattacks and growing geopolitical tensions make it imperative to gain better control over our infrastructure, our data and our software.
In France as across Europe, digital sovereignty aims to guarantee the ability to choose, control and protect strategic technologies, while strengthening the security, resilience and autonomy of organisations.
This site is built around three complementary pillars: digital sovereignty, strategic digital autonomy and responsible digital technology.Digital sovereignty
The ability of a state, an organisation or a company to control its digital infrastructure, data, technologies and services, without strategic dependence on foreign actors.
Explore →Strategic digital autonomy
The ability of an organisation or a state to choose, deploy, operate and evolve its digital solutions while retaining full freedom over its decisions and its technological direction.
Explore →Responsible digital technology
An approach to designing, deploying and using digital technologies in ways that reduce their environmental, social and ethical impacts throughout their life cycle.
Explore →The podcast “Au cœur de la souveraineté numérique”
